James (hamstring) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Thursday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

James began a rehab assignment with Low-A Fayetteville last Friday, but he joined the major-league staff for his bullpen Thursday. The right-hander will report to Triple-A Sugar Land to continue his rehab stint in the coming days, and he could rejoin the Astros' bullpen soon after.
