Through six outings covering eight innings this spring, Cingrani has not allowed a run, striking out 10 while walking three. He's close to locking down a bullpen spot in the Reds' Opening Day roster.

EDGE Analysis

With his excellent fastball and limited offspeed repertoire, Cingrani is a better fit in the bullpen than as a starter. He could be an alternative to close in lieu of J.J. Hoover, but first he needs an extended run of success.
