Though the Mets haven't made a final decision, Mike Puma of the New York Post was told that Mike Pelfrey will likely receive an injection in his right elbow and see how it responds. It could just be delaying the inevitable Tommy John surgery, but it might be worth a shot to see if Pelfrey responds. The Mets believe the right-hander may have a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament, and they've sent the MRI results to Dr. James Andrews. It's not clear at this point what his diagnosis was.
