Thornburg is expected to throw off a bullpen mound "in the coming days" to work on mechanical issues, according to Boston manager John Farrell, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

The right-hander has not pitched in a game since March 1, but is not injured according to Farrell, who said Thornburg is in no danger of being left off the Opening Day roster.
