Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports that Rockies manager Walt Weiss is considering using Carlos Gonzalez as his leadoff hitter for the upcoming season.
The Rockies have a vacancy at the top of the order after dealing Dexter Fowler to the Astros, and the oft-injured superstar has experience in that role. Whoever wins the position battles at second base or left field would also be candidates to leadoff, but it appears that CarGo is the favorite at the moment. If so, it would be a detriment to his RBI chances, but should boost his runs scored and potentially stolen base totals.
