Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports that Carlos Gonzalez (appendectomy) will be released from the hospital on Saturday. Gonzalez was hospitalized late Saturday night and required an emergency appendectomy. He will be shut down from any activities for the next two weeks until he's re-examined. With plenty of time to rest and heal up, this shouldn't affect his availability for the start of spring training.
