The Royals plan to promote left-hander Tommy Hottovy to serve as the 26th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Twins. Hottovy has appeared in five games with the Royals this year and holds a 1.63 ERA and 38/6 K/BB ratio over 27 2/3 innings with Triple-A Omaha. He'll pitch out of the bullpen.
