The Red Sox reversed Workman's (elbow) option to Triple-A Pawtucket and placed him on their 15-day disabled list Monday, Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports. Workman was initially in line to land on the minor-league DL, but he'll instead stick around with the parent club while he recovers from a strained elbow. Workman is expected to assume a relief role with the Red Sox once healthy.
