The Pirates will use Justin Wilson as a starter in spring training. Wilson made eight appearances as a reliever with the Pirates this past season, but he's mostly been a starter in the minors, posting a 3.83 ERA with 460 strikeouts over 518 2/3 innings. As it stands right now, the Pirates have two openings in their rotation. Jeff Locke and Kyle McPherson are the likely favorites to fill those spots, but they'll compete with Wilson, Zach Stewart, Vin Mazzaro and Andrew Oliver.
