The New York Mets activated third baseman David Wright from the disabled list after he recovered from a back injury, and he is in the lineup Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Wright had been out since April 14 due to spinal stenosis, and he will reportedly be a part-time player for the rest of the season. “I never tried to get caught up in the big picture of things and say, ‘This is the date, this is what I want to do.’ It was more just daily goals,” Wright told the New York Post. “If I accomplished the goals for today, I’d just move on to tomorrow. When you have something [this] significant, as far as time goes, the time I’ve been gone, it will drive you crazy if you say, ‘OK, I want to be back by this day, I want to do this.’ Kind of look at the big-picture things.” Wright is expected to split time with Juan Uribe, who had been starting while Wright was on the disabled list.
