The Nationals transferred Eaton (knee) to the 60-day disabled list Thursday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports.

It's merely a formality considering Eaton already underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL and meniscus in his left knee and will miss the rest of the 2017 seasons. He'll be closely watched heading into 2018 spring training to see if he can regain the speed and excellent bat skills that made him a breakthrough candidate before he suffered the injury.
