The Mets plan to shut down left-handed reliever Josh Edgin after one more appearance in 2012. Edgin is being shut down purely due to workload. He has thrown 69 innings between the minors and majors this season. Over 25 2/3 innings with the big club, Edgin has a 3.86 ERA to go along with 30 punch-outs.
