The Mets are expected to call up right-hander David Aardsma prior to Saturday's game. Aardsma was signed to a minor league deal last month and appeared in eight games with the Mets' Triple-A affiliate. The 31-year-old is expected to be used in a setup role to Bobby Parnell. With Jon Niese set to return from the disabled list, Collin McHugh will likely be optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas.
