The Cardinals won't call up Weaver to start either game of their doubleheader Tuesday against the Brewers, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The organization decided to keep Weaver on his normal throwing schedule with Triple-A Memphis, so he started Sunday with the minor-league club to take him out of consideration for a spot start with the Cardinals. Instead, it appears that Triple-A rotation mate Marco Gonzales will be recalled to fill the starting void in the doubleheader. With a 1.84 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over 44 innings for Memphis heading into his start Sunday, Weaver has little left to prove in the minors and should force his way to St. Louis before long.
