The Angels have begun preliminary discussions about multi-year contracts with the agents for Howie Kendrick and Erick Aybar, reports Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times. "At this point, it's something we've begun to explore and will continue to explore," said Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto. "There is no timetable, but certainly, it's something we're interested in pursuing." Kendrick made $3.3 million in 2011 while Aybar earned $3 million, but both players should see sizable raises in their final year of arbitration. DiGiovanna speculates that they would each command four-year deals worth more than $30 million.
