The Angels don't expect Weaver (hip) to return until after the All-Star break, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports. Though the Angels are ruling out a return for the right-hander in the 15-day minimum, Weaver could miss as few as two starts due to a favorable schedule that will allow the team to get by without a fifth starter in the next few weeks. Manager Mike Scioscia said that Weaver would be barred from throwing for the next five days before team doctors re-evaluate him and determine if he's ready to start up a program of activities. The Angels appear to be eyeing Cory Rasmus (core muscle surgery), who is currently on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Salt Lake, as the top candidate to replace Weaver in the rotation.
