Minor (shoulder) will throw a simulated game Friday and hopes to make his 2022 debut sometime in mid-April, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Minor is on the 10-day injured list to begin the season, but manager David Bell is optimistic the southpaw will be able to return after a relatively minimal absence. It's encouraging Minor will face hitters once again Friday, and he'll presumably shift his focus toward building up his workload ahead of his return to game action.
