Boston Red Sox pitcher Tanner Houck (back) has been placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to Aug. 6. This is bad timing for Boston, as Houck has been sharp out of the bullpen this year. He currently holds a 3.15 ERA and 56:22 K:BB ratio over 60 innings (four starts, 28 relief appearances) on the season.
