Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Steven Souza is expected to miss up to six weeks because of a left hand fracture, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Souza was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday after suffering the injury Saturday against the Boston Red Sox. It was initially feared that the injury could sideline Souza for the remainder of the season, so the updated timeline is certainly good news. Grady Sizemore, Brandon Guyer and Joey Butler are all expected to see additional playing time in right field. Souza was recently activated from the disabled list after recovering from a hand injury, and it is unclear if the recent issue complicated the previous one. He is hitting just .212 this season but has hit 15 home runs and stolen 10 bases in 88 games, his first year in the majors playing more than 21, which he did last season with the Washington Nationals.
