Swarzak (2-1) allowed four runs on four hits and a walk in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Swarzak entered the game with microscopic numbers (.135 BAA, 1.16 ERA, 0.64 WHIP) after Mike Pelfrey threw five scoreless innings, but was nicked to death by the Red Sox. Three of the four hits Swarzak allowed were bloop singles, and the defense behind him didn't help. Despite the ugly results, Swarzak boasts a 2.59 ERA and will continue to work in close games until some of Chicago's injured relievers get back to full health.
