Suarez tossed 1.2 clean innings in Sunday's spring training win over the Reds. He walked one and struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
This was a good start to spring training for Suarez, who is making his case to make the Giants' 25-man roster. Assuming good health, Matt Cain is expected to be named the team's fifth starter when we get closer to Opening Day, but Suarez and Ty Blach are going to be given an opportunity to prove themselves as viable options. Even if he doesn't make the rotation, Suarez -- a swingman -- could also be used in a long relief role like he was for portions of the season last year.
