Suarez (3-4) lost after allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with two strikeouts in five innings during Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez held his own against St. Louis, but didn't get any run support. The 26-year-old rookie has been solid since rejoining the rotation in late August, allowing three earned runs or fewer in five consecutive starts. However, he has not pitched past the fifth inning in any of them, as the Giants have been cautious with his pitch counts. He only threw 60 pitches on Sunday, for instance, and has not topped 90 in any of his last five starts. Suarez will look to take his recent run of success on the road against the Padres on Friday.
