Price (4-1) took the loss Thursday against the Giants after surrendering four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two across 4.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
After walking the bases loaded in the first inning, Price managed to limit the damage to a two-run double by Brandon Crawford before escaping. While he was able to keep the ball in the park, his shaky command in the first inning came back to haunt him while a lack of run support from his teammates strapped him with his first loss of the season. In the process of being stretched out to slot into a full-time starting role, the southpaw was coming off his longest outing of the season (5.2 innings) but labored with a 64-pitch workload this time around. Price will carry a 3.63 ERA and 1.48 WHIP into his next projected start Wednesday against Houston.
