Mikolas (8-10) allowed five runs on seven hits and struck out seven without walking a batter over 5.2 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas pitched into the sixth inning for the first time in August and avoided walking a batter for the second start in a row. His seven strikeouts were also a season high. He's given up 14 runs over 13.2 innings across his last three starts, and the Dodgers were able to take him deep twice on solo shots from Gavin Lux and Mookie Betts. Mikolas is now at a 5.41 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 96:22 K:BB through 138 innings across 25 starts. This is shaping up as his worst of six seasons as a Cardinal, and it hasn't been getting better throughout the summer. The veteran is projected for a tough home start versus the Brewers in his next outing.
