Steve Clevenger was ejected from Thursday's game against the Nationals in the sixth inning after benches cleared. Benches cleared after Lendy Castillo threw inside on Bryce Harper, apparently in retaliation to a confrontation between Nationals third base coach Bo Porter and Cubs bench coach Jamie Quirk which caused benches to clear in the previous inning. No punches were thrown in the scrum, but Clevenger shoved Michael Morse and took a swipe at Ian Desmond. Castillo remained in the game and struck out Harper.
