Steve Cishek pitched three scoreless innings for the victory as the Marlins edged the Padres 9-8 in 12 innings on Friday. The Marlins didn't want to use Edward Mujica tonight, so Cishek stayed in even after the team grabbed the lead in the top of the 12th. Cishek would be our choice to close for Miami in place of the struggling Heath Bell, but Mujica is likely the favorite for saves right now. Cishek certainly won't be in the mix Saturday; he's due one or maybe even two days off after topping 50 pitches tonight.
