Stephen Drew underwent hernia surgery last month. Drew is currently recovering from a fractured right ankle and was set back about 10 days by the hernia procedure. There's no guarantee that he'll be ready by the start of the 2012 season, which is why the Diamondbacks have already signed both John McDonald and Willie Bloomquist.
