Carlson singled, stole second and scored on a Nolan Arenado double in the first inning. The 23-year-old has only stolen four bases in his major-league career but did have a 20-steal season in the minor leagues. He has hit leadoff in both games for St. Louis in 2022, and if he becomes a successful base stealer, he'll add a lot of value following a promising rookie season.
