Stauffer gave up two more runs (one earned) in Monday's loss to the Royals, allowing two hits and a walk over 1.2 innings. Stauffer lost out on the fifth starter's battle in spring training and had velocity issues then. So far his velocity is down in the regular season too, with an average fastball 2.2 mph slower than last year.
