Santana (quadriceps) reported to Triple-A Worcester on Friday to begin a rehab assignment, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Santana has been sidelined by July 6 with the strained quadriceps, so he should only require a couple games in the minors to get back up to game speed. The 30-year-old is hardly guaranteed much of a role once healthy given his .167/.231/.292 slash line through 31 games.
