The Orioles will select Irvin's contract from Triple-A Norfolk to start Wednesday's game against the Mets, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since being sent outright to Norfolk on Aug. 2, Irvin has allowed three earned runs over 6.2 innings, and he'll now be brought back onto the big-league roster to make a spot start. In 14 starts with the Orioles, the 30-year-old lefty has posted a 4.06 ERA and 1.34 WHIP through 75.1 frames. He will most likely be sent back to Triple-A following his outing Wednesday.
