Pina (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment with Low-A Stockton on Friday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Pina will be the designated hitter for the Ports on Friday and then get a chance to catch Sunday. The backstop is currently dealing with a left wrist sprain and has a chance to return from the injured list in the next week. He'll likely operate as the backup catcher to Shea Langeliers once healthy.
