Souza's Monday exam in Nashville for his bothersome left hip could reveal a need for season-ending surgery, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. "I don't know what I'm going to hear,'' Souza said. "We're trying to figure out what the timetable is , if there is a need for some type procedure, on when to get it, whether to wait, whether to get it now or not get it at all.''

The 27-year-old has been bothered since June by what has been deemed as pinching caused by irregular bone growth and has missed a total of 17 games as a result of the ailment. Souza will be examined by Dr. Thomas Byrd, who was the initial specialist to look at his injury back in June.
