Souza went 2-for-4 with his 29th homer and two RBI against the Royals on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
This fine performance busted a four-game slump that saw Souza go just 1-for-15. It's not hard for fantasy owners to appreciate all those long balls and the 13 steals Souza's managed alongside them, but even though he's cut his strikeouts, he's still one of the league's more prolific whiff artists, having gone down on strikes 151 times already this year. That's kept Souza from seeing a noticeable bump in batting average -- his .252 mark, while technically a career high, isn't much better than last year's .247. Still, both his power and his plate discipline have improved significantly this season, and Souza's likely to clear 90 RBI and 80 runs before all's said and done.
