Souza went 1-for-2 with a solo homer, a walk and a steal Friday against the Athletics. Souza's on pace to easily clear 20 homers and steals, but he's still striking out way too much -- 63 times this year, with 16 just in the last nine games. The 26-year-old rookie's 38 percent strikeout rate is the highest in the major leagues among those who qualify for the batting title. All those whiffs will keep his average down, but Souza does at least draw walks at a reasonable rate -- though Friday's was his first in nine games.
