Smyly (elbow) tossed a bullpen Saturday, prior to the Mariners game against Toronto, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

EDGE Analysis

The plan is for Smyly to throw at least five more bullpens before completing a simulated game. Each one is figured to ramp up while his initial session Saturday saw the southpaw throw 22 pitches, all of which were fastballs. Once Smyly has completed his bullpens and simulated game, he will embark on a rehab assignment before rejoining the Mariners sometime in mid-July.
