Smith is out of the lineup Friday, MLB.com's Greg Johns reports. Lefty Brett Oberholtzer is on the mound for the Astros, so the Mariners will look to get their right-heavy lineup in. Smith has been pretty solid on the strong side of a platoon this year, slugging .485, but he will have to wait until Saturday's game against Collin McHugh to get back in the starting lineup.
