Smith is expected to compete for the final right-handed reliever spot in the Tigers' bullpen during spring training, the Detroit News reports. Smith showed a nice fastball-slider combination while spending most of 2014 in the minors, but he was used for 11.2 innings out of the Detroit bullpen to mediocre results (5.40 ERA, 1.54 WHIP). He'll battle Josh Zeid, Alex Wilson, and Buck Farmer for the job in camp.
