Singleton is out of the lineup Wednesday against the A's. With lefty Drew Pomeranz on the hill for Oakland, Singleton will head to the bench for the second time in four games, opening the door for Jesus Guzman to start at first base. Singleton is batting just .186/.296/.372 with the big club this season, and while his struggles have mostly come against right-handed pitching (.160/.280/.326), manager Bo Porter may be inclined to further limit Singleton's exposure to lefties over the remainder of the season.
