SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Tigers will call up top pitching prospect Jacob Turner. Interesting. We thought they might give Turner the call if they didn't land the starter they wanted at the deadline, so perhaps it's a sign that trade talks aren't going well. Heyman did add, though, that the Tigers are "active on other fronts, as well," so it sounds like they're likely to add two new members to their rotation. Turner, 20, holds a 3.48 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 90/32 K/BB ratio over 113 2/3 innings for Double-A Erie. Though we're bullish on his long-term potential, we're not incredibly confident he'll have success right away.
