Shoemaker threw six hitless innings in a Cactus league game against the Mariners on Monday. He stuck out two and walked a batter in the contest. After being hammered for seven runs over six innings in his first two starts of the spring, Shoemaker answered with a gem Monday. Spring results generally don't mean much one way or the other, but it could be encouraging to see Shoemaker rounding in to form as he looks for a repeat of his breakout season in 2014, when he tallied a 3.04 ERA with 124 strikeouts over 136 innings.
