Shoemaker (0-1) allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two over three innings, and took the loss Friday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
After earning the job as the Angels fifth starter, Shoemaker had a very forgettable first start, as he fell behind 3-0 in the first inning, and left the game after allowing 10 hitters to reach base in three innings. Despite his struggles in both 2015 and his first outing this season, he's hoping to recapture the magic of his 2014 season, when he went 16-4 with a 3.04 ERA. He'll make his next start Wednesday at the Athletics.
