Shields was a tough-luck loser Sunday versus Atlanta, allowing just two runs on six hits and two walks across 7.2 strong innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Shields was rather efficient and needed just 93 pitches as he lasted into the eighth inning, but a pair of solo home runs against and a red-hot counterpart in Mike Foltenywicz handed him his first loss in four starts. After a beginning to his White Sox career that was nothing short of disastrous, Shields has turned in three consecutive quality starts and will look to build on his recent success after the All-Star break.
