Shields (2-8) was bombed for seven runs on eight hits and two walks in just two innings Wednesday against Washington, taking the loss in his White Sox debut.
EDGE Analysis
Since he was annihilated in his final start as a Padre, Shields now owns a simply disgraceful pitching line of 17 runs -- all earned -- on 16 hits in his last 4.2 innings. Over that span, averaging more than a walk (six) and a homer (five) per inning. If White Sox fans thought Jeff Samardzija was a disaster for their club in 2015, they're really in for an unpleasant surprise with Shields, whose stuff is not going to play well in homer-friendly U.S. Cellular Field.
