The Astros placed Scott on the 15-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to Sept. 18, due to a thoracic spine strain.

EDGE Analysis

Scott has been uncharacteristically bad during September, logging a 6.35 ERA and 4:5 K:BB across 5.2 innings. However, it would seem the poor performance can be attributed at least in part to the spine injury. Scott won't be eligible to return during the regular season, but he could return for the playoffs. Seth Martinez was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move.
