Shaw worked out in left field prior to Monday's game and there's a tentative plan to have him start there Wednesday, Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

EDGE Analysis

Shaw's played very little left field -- five games in the minors, six innings in the majors -- but it appears to be his best shot at getting into the lineup. Yoan Moncada and Aaron Hill are platooning at third base while Hanley Ramirez is a fixture at first. Playing left field against right-handed starters would be his niche until Andrew Benintendi (knee) is ready to return.
