Shaw went 3-for-3 with a walk and two RBI in Boston's loss to Tampa Bay on Tuesday. He's knocked in runs in three straight games.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw is on a bit of roll right now, having hit safely in five straight and reached base safely in 14 straight. He's done enough to warrant consideration to be Boston's first baseman next season, but the elephant in the room is Hanley Ramirez, who has been working out at first base the past few weeks. If the intent is to keep an outfield of Rusney Castillo, Jackie Bradley and Mookie Betts, the the Red Sox will need to put Ramirez somewhere.
