Shaw was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday and will start at first base and bat ninth against the Blue Jays, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports. Shaw will receive the start at first while Mike Napoli will serve as the team's designated hitter with David Ortiz serving a one-game suspension Friday. Shaw's stay with the club will likely be short, however, as Ortiz will return from his suspension Saturday.
