Shaw was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket on Saturday, Gordon Edes of ESPN Boston reports. Shaw appeared in five games during his most recent stint with the Red Sox, going 0-for-7 in that span. The Red Sox recalled righty Matt Barnes in a corresponding move to add depth to the bullpen.
