Shaw was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket on Monday. Shaw played in two games for the Red Sox, drawing a walk in four plate appearances. He heads back to Triple-A, where he was hitting .256 in 56 games. He was sent down to make room for Craig Breslow, who returns from paternity leave.
